The Miami Dolphins dropped their Week 1 game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday afternoon. Oddsmakers do not expect them to bounce back in Week 2. According to the oddsmakers at FanDuel Sportsbook, Miami faces the longest odds in the league for their game next week against the San Francisco 49ers.
Miami faced a three-point spread on Sunday and lost to the Raiders by 14 points. Against the 49ers, the odds have opened with Miami facing a 13.5-point spread. It is not a sign that the Dolphins’ performance against Las Vegas added any confidence to the team’s reputation this season.
The point total is set at 45.5 points. After today’s game, the 49ers are going to have to score the majority of those points if the over is going to hit.
The next closest spreads are two games that have 8.5-point margins. The Baltimore Ravens are 8.5-point favorites over the New Orleans Saints for Sunday afternoon, while the Los Angeles Rams are favored by the same amount for the Week 2 Monday Night Football game against the New York Giants.
The 49ers are coming off a 27-7 victory over the Los Angeles Rams in the NFL’s first game in Australia. They played on Thursday, giving them a few extra days of rest and preparation for Miami – not that they likely will need it.
The Dolphins and 49ers kick off from Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, on Sunday, September 20, at 4:25 p.m. Eastern.
