The Miami Dolphins lost to the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, starting what is expected to be a rough year with a rough Week 1 performance. Things do not get easier for the Dolphins over the next few weeks as they face the San Francisco 49ers, then the Kansas City Chiefs, the Minnesota Vikings, and the Cincinnati Bengals before their Week 6 bye. It might reach “rough” – it might get even uglier than that.
But this is a rebuilding team. It was somewhat expected that they would struggle, especially early in the season, when they rely on rookies and younger players who need to gain experience at the NFL level. This season is focused on growth and development, which does not always align with the best performances in games.
