That was intense.
Bodycam footage released by police in New Jersey’s Franklin Township shows officers taking apart the entire front of a car to find a ball python apparently caught in its grille.
It’s not clear who noticed the three-foot snake get into the grille and called authorities on Monday. It’s also not clear who owns it; ball pythons are among the most popular snakes kept as pets.

What does appear clear from the video, though, is that none of the people in the driveway particularly like snakes. There are shrieks. The ordeal lasted about 20 minutes.
The non-venemous slitherer was hauled out and put safely in a bag. Everyone breathed sighs of relief.
“I can’t believe this s*** was in my car!’ the owner yelled.
No injuries were reported.
Local officials took the opportunity to remind residents it’s not only illegal but dangerous to release exotic animals into the wild. They could harm native species or household pets.
Authorities say anyone in the area with a pet snake they can’t or won’t care for any longer should call the Franklin Township Animal Shelter at 732-873-2500 ext. 6255.
