Harry Kane has yet to sign a new contract extension at Bayern Munich, but the England skipper has revealed that talks are ongoing and he’s feeling good about it. With his brace in Bayern’s impressive 7-0 win over Union Berlin on Friday, he scored his 100th and 101st Bundesliga goals, becoming the quickest player to hit the 100-goal mark in the German top flight (98 matches). After that match, he said that he’s loving life at Bayern and that talks over a new deal will continue, adding that it could be something very special to reach the 2028 Champions League final, which will be hosted at the Allianz Arena.
Over the weekend, most of the Bayern players and staff made a visit to the Oktoberfest before the international break starts and some were asked questions before heading in to enjoy the festivities.
Bayern club president Herbert Hainer was asked about Kane’s contract situation upon his arrival, for which he is still remaining increasingly relaxed about. “Today is a day to enjoy Oktoberfest. We’ll talk about contracts later. But I’m very confident. He feels extremely comfortable in Munich, as does his family – he can win titles with us. He’s never won as many titles as he has since he joined Bayern. He knows how to assess that and we know how to assess it as well,” Hainer replied when he was asked about the current situation (via @iMiaSanMia).
For what it’s worth, no one at the club seems to have expressed any sort of doubt or worry about a contract extension for Kane and it seems more of a ‘when’ rather than an ‘if’ as far as the England skipper putting pen to paper on a new deal. There have been a small handful of half-hearted rumors linking him with other clubs for next summer’s transfer window, but they’ve been nothing but just that; half-hearted rumors.
As things stand, Kane’s contract at Bayern runs through June 2027, but it’s anticipated that he would sign an extension that keeps him at the club through 2029, or perhaps even through until 2030 and the next World Cup.
