The Delaware State Police is asking for the community’s help to identify and locate a vehicle of interest in a hit-and-run crash that killed a man last week in Seaford.
On Friday, troopers shared an image of a red or maroon vehicle they believe may have been involved in the crash that killed bicyclist Michael Barrett, 73, on July 24.
Officials about 2:10 p.m., Barrett was riding his bicycle eastbound along the south edge of Woodpecker Road, west of Butler Branch Road. At the same time, an unknown vehicle was traveling eastbound on Woodpecker Road, approaching the bicyclist. For unknown reasons, the vehicle struck the bicyclist and drove away from the scene.
Barrett died at the scene, troopers said.
According to state police, the vehicle may have damage to the right front headlight area.
