A pig found wandering the streets of Delaware has found his forever home.
Faithful Friends Animal Society shared that in early July, they received a call from the Delaware Department of Agriculture about a pig wandering the streets of Felton.
The two-year-old pig, now named Fred, was then brought into the organization’s care. Staff worked to provide him with the medical attention he needed.
Fred was then examined by a veterinarian who specializes in pigs. He was neutered and microchipped to comply with Delaware state requirements.
After his veterinary appointment, Fred moved to PigTail Manor, where he will now spend the rest of his life.
Faithful Friends said the manor has more than 2 acres of land to explore and plenty of fellow pigs to keep Fred company.
“Faithful Friends staff loved taking care of Fred while he waited to go to his forever home. Throughout his stay at Faithful Friends, staff members worked together to provide him with daily care, discovering his favorite snacks, giving him plenty of belly rubs, and making sure he felt safe and comfortable,” the organization wrote.
Although Faithful Friends primarily cares for dogs and cats, the organization said it welcomes animals of all kinds and is committed to providing the same level of care and compassion to every animal.
