Delaware County officials say the county’s computer systems are fully operational Monday after a cyberattack impacted its equipment over the past few weeks.
On Monday morning, officials in Delaware County said services were restored and an investigation is still underway to track down those responsible for the cyberattack.
“Delaware County is sharing an update on the recent cybercriminal attack that disrupted County systems and operations,” officials said in a statement. “We have been tirelessly working the last few weeks to resolve the issue and have been able to fully restore County operations at this time.”
Last month, county officials announced that on June 26, 2026, they “identified unauthorized intrusion attempts into the County’s network systems and took the proactive but necessary steps of shutting down our networks to protect sensitive information and critical systems.”
An investigation into the incident, officials said, revealed that the attackers were able to gain access to the county’s network and access data within it.
Officials said an investigation is still ongoing to determine “the full scope of the recent attack.”
Based on the results of this investigation, county officials will determine next steps, officials said in a statement.
“We continue to update and our security posture as the privacy and security of information in our care is a critical point of focus,” officials said. “Unfortunately, in this instance we were victims of a sophisticated cybercriminal attack on the County’s systems that is all too common today.”
