A 50-year-old man is dead and another person is seriously injured following a crash involving a motorcycle and two cars that closed Interstate 190 in Lancaster, Massachusetts, for several hours on Friday.
State police say troopers responded to the crash on I-190 northbound at mile marker 17.6 around 4:30 p.m. The motorcyclist, the 50-year-old man from Holden, was taken with critical injuries to Leominster Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His name wasn’t immediately released.
One of the drivers of the two vehicles was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, police added. The other driver had minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
All lanes of the highway were closed until about 7 p.m. after the scene was cleared, police said.
It’s unclear what caused the crash at this time, or if any charges will be filed.
An investigation is ongoing by Massachusetts State Police detectives and the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office.
