A driver was killed and two passengers were seriously hurt after a car left the roadway, struck a telephone pole and overturned on Route 7 in New Haven, Vermont, this week.
Troopers responded at about 7 p.m. Monday to the intersection with Lime Kiln Road where they found a totaled Nissan Altima, state police said. The driver, identified as 32-year-old Sabrina A. Prim, of Vergennes, Vt., was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her two passengers, identified as 40-year-old Frances V. McDowell and 42-year-old Crystal L. Mayo, both of Ferrisburgh, suffered suspected serious injuries. McDowell was taken to Porter Medical Center, while Mayo was transported to the University of Vermont Medical Center.
Prim was not wearing a seatbelt, according to police. Her two passengers were.
US Route 7 was closed for approximately three hours to accommodate the on-scene investigation. Vermont State Police were assisted by the Vergennes Police and Fire departments, the Addison County Sheriff’s Department, the Middlebury Police Department, the New Haven Fire Department, the Bristol Rescue Squad, Middlebury Regional EMS, and MiddState Towing.
