A woman is in critical condition after a motorcycle crash in Bridgeport on Saturday night.
Dispatchers received a call from someone saying her friend was involved in a motorcycle crash around 8:40 p.m. The caller reportedly said her friend was unresponsive and the crash happened at Newfield Avenue and Beardsley Street.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and began rendering aid to the motorcyclist. She was transported to Bridgeport Hospital while the Bridgeport Police Reconstruction Team responded to the crash scene.
Investigators said the motorcyclist was traveling northbound on Newfield Avenue when she lost control, hit a utility pole then a gate and came to rest on a property on Newfield Avenue.
According to police, the motorcyclist was identified as a 41-year-old Bridgeport resident. She is currently listed in critical condition.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
