Dozens of nurses are on the picket line Thursday in the East Bay.
About 250 health care workers are participating in an informational picket as they push Kindred Hospital San Francisco Bay Area in San Leandro for a new contract.
Nurses are demanding better pay and say they are dealing with shortages of medical supplies.
Kindred Hospital provides long-term acute care.
In a statement, the hospital reacted to the event, saying, “The hospital will continue to negotiate in good faith with NUHW as we work toward a mutually beneficial contract for the union, its members, our employees, and our hospital.”
