A man died after crashing with a building in Fremont on Saturday, according to the police department.
Police said officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash at around 12:12 p.m. in the area of Niles Boulevard and Cinematic Common.
At the scene, authorities said they found the unresponsive 88-year-old driver and provided life-saving efforts. The driver was taken to a local trauma center, where he later died, officials reported.
Police said no bystanders were injured and the exact cause of the crash is under investigation, but “speed has not been ruled out”.
Authorities added this is the city’s ninth fatal traffic collision in 2026.
