A mountain lion was captured in San Francisco after it was spotted in the city’s Outer Sunset neighborhood.
Authorities said the mountain lion, which was seen Friday morning near 44th Avenue and Ulloa Street, was tranquilized and will be relocated.
Officials provided the following guidance for anyone who comes across a mountain lion:
- Slowly back away and do not run.
- Call Animal Care & Control at 415-554-9400 or 911 in a life safety emergency.
- If you have a child with you – pick them up – and keep dogs on leash.
- If the mountain lion approaches – make yourself “big,” wave your arms, shout, throw something, and again, do not run.
